This site was created by D. Savage, a cannabis grower and long-time enthusiast who wanted a more reliable, experience-based place for learning about cannabis. Not theory. Not recycled opinions. Real-world growing, testing, and research.

Why The HighWay Exists

When I first started growing cannabis over 5 years ago, I ran into the same problem most people do — conflicting advice everywhere.

Every grow forum, video, and article seemed to say something different:

• different feeding schedules
• different training techniques
• different opinions on strains and setups

It quickly became difficult to know what actually worked in practice.

So I built The HighWay to focus on something simple:
clear, experience-backed cannabis information that actually helps people grow and understand the plant.

My Growing Experience

I’ve been growing cannabis for over 5 years, primarily indoors.

My setup is intentionally small and hands-on:

• A 4×2 indoor grow tent
• Typically 2–3 plants per cycle
• A rotation of different strains to compare performance and effects side-by-side

I usually run multiple strains at once because I’m interested in how genetics behave differently under the same conditions, but it also makes the grow more challenging and detailed, which is part of the learning process.

While indoor growing is my main focus, I’ve also experimented with outdoor grows to better understand how environment impacts plant structure, yield, and terpene expression.

How the Content on This Site Is Created

Everything on The HighWay is built around real involvement with the plant.

For grow and strain content, I:

• Maintain a basic grow journal throughout each cycle
• Track changes like feeding, watering, lighting adjustments, defoliation, and transplant timing
• Document plant performance across different strains and environments
• Take all strain review photos myself directly from my grows

This site is not based on rewritten summaries, it’s based on hands-on cultivation and direct observation.

Strain Reviews & Testing

A large focus of The HighWay is strain reviews and comparisons.

Because I often run multiple strains at the same time, I’m able to observe differences in:

• growth structure
• resilience and difficulty
• terpene profiles
• yield potential
• overall experience

The goal is to provide reviews that reflect what a grower or consumer can realistically expect, not just marketing descriptions from breeders.
